Cahuita info: Tranquil waters and a calm atmosphere are just some of the relaxing characteristics of Cahuita, a free love town placed perfectly along the Caribbean coast.
Blessed with some of eastern Costa Rica's most perfect beaches people come back here again and again, that's if they ever leave in the first place.
Just north of the town center you'll find the gorgeous dark sands of Playa Negra, and just south of town in Cahuita National Park a beautiful white sand beach awaits you... Enjoy!
Fun facts: Parque Nacional Cahuita's claim to fame is that it is home to one of only two living Coral reefs in all of costa rica. Although a small park it is a favorite among many visitors and Ticos alike!
Getting there: From San Jose take Hwy (32) East to Limon then (365) South to Cahuita. Distance: 195km, Time: 4 Hours
From Liberia head South on Hwy (1) then (23) towards Puntarenas. Shortly after hop on the San Jose-Orotina Highway (27) to San Jose. From there Take Hwy (32) to Limon then (365) South to Cahuita. Distance: 408km, Time: 8 Hours
